Ser Alliser Thorne, one of the brother of the Night’s Watch, is characterized as someone who is very keen of being on Power. For instance, he captures the post of Lord Commander, when Lord Commander Jeor Mormont was killed by his own fellow men under the same roof beyond the wall, becoming the acting Lord Commander.
