Character Review: Lyanna Stark

Lyanna Stark sister of Eddard Stark and Benjen Stark in the world popular series of Game of Thrones is depicted only in some scenes-one by a young girl, another by a lady-has also been known to be Jon Snow's mother in later season 6. Lyanna was said to have kidnapped by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, but later on Bran finds out through his vision, in season 7-last episode, that Rhaegar loved Lyanna and married her in a secret ceremony in Dorne. They had a child who was later secretly grown by Ned Stark, as a promise to his dying sister Lyanna Stark. It could be now said that Eddard Stark was preserving the last Targaryen (Dragon) blood in the skin of a wolf. To recapitulate, a beautiful young sister of Starks, Lyanna Stark was the love of Rhaegar Targaryen with whom she gave birth to Jon Snow. Thus, Lyanna Stark is a prominent character for making the story of Jon Snow possible.

Character Review: Cersei Lannister

Cersei Lannister of the House Lannister and married to King Robert Baratheon is the rightful queen of the Seven Kingdoms and the protector of the realm of men. She is depicted as attractive, beautiful, tall, and blonde women in this famous series of Game of Thrones. She is the only queen who wears a crown in the series. Cersei was the daughter of late Tywin Lannister, who was killed by his dwarf son, and sister of Ser Jaime Lannister and the dwarf, Tyrion Lannister. In this series, it is shown that Cersei and her brother Jaime Lannister keeps some intimate relationship even though they are blood-related to each other. We could see at the last episode of the first season, when Ser Jaime Lannister pushes Brandon Stark from the tower of Winterfell. Bran then falls into coma and wakes up only when he has a vision of his father being slaughtered. Cersei can be taken as the real game player in this series. We can commonly notice her having a wine glass in her hand. Obviously, she had ...

Character Review: Tywin Lannister

Tywin Lannister is the head of the House Lannister situated on the Casterly Rock. He was the one who was the Hand of the King Aerys Targaryen as well as fought from the rebellion side to abduct the King. A highly capable administrator, Tywin served as Hand of the King to Aerys II Targaryen for twenty years until the Mad King, driven by envy and distrust, rejected Tywin's proposal to marry his daughter Cersei to Prince Rhaegar and made his son Jaime a member of the Kingsguard. As members of the Kingsguard are forbidden to marry, Aerys had effectively robbed Tywin of his heir, which Tywin perceived as a great insult and resigned. During Robert's Rebellion Tywin remained neutral, answering neither the summons of the King nor the calls from the rebels, until the Battle of the Trident, after which it became clear that the rebels would win. Tywin marched with the full power of Casterly Rock to the capital, feigning that ...

Character Review: Janos Slynt

Janos Slynt can be seen as a man who is very proud of his power. He commanded the city watch when he was in the King's Landing and then he was transferred to the Night's watch. In Night's watch he was a close adviser to Ser Alliser Thorne, the acting Lord Commander after Lord Commander Jeor Mormont's death. Janos Slynt can be seen as someone who do not take orders and who is proud of what he did some years ago in the city. He even thought that he deserved a better respect than any other looters, theives, or any high-born on the Night's watch. Further, Janos Slynt, at an occasion, denied the command from Lord Commander Jon Snow and faces his death. Anyhow we can say that it was a good end for a bad character. To recapitulate, Janos Slynt met a perfect death which was suitable for his character.

Character Review: Tormund Giantsbane

Tormund, often called Tormund Giantsbane, is a renowned leader and raider among the Free Folk and one of the key leaders behind Mance Rayder. Tormund respected Mance as the King-Beyond-the-Wall and suspected he was the man to lead them through the Long Night. But as time passes and Mance is killed on the orders of Stannis Baratheon, he believes the prophesied warrior is his enemy-turned-friend Jon Snow. Tormund Giantsbane is an extremely fierce and determined man and a born warrior of the Free Folk in almost every way. Aside from his excellent fighting skills and monstrous strength, Tormund is a supremely intimidating individual who immediately asserts that his enemies should be afraid of him, which he does in his first encounter with Jon Snow, stating that men similar to Jon have met their ends trying to end Tormund's life in combat. Tormund is clearly hugely respected among his people, as evidenced by the immense responsibilities p...
